A Story About Common Sense

One day an old indian woman was gathering wood while it
snowed. As she found the twigs and branches she would shake the snow
form them and bundled them to carry. She came across a frozen rattle
snake in the snow. Taking pity on the near dead creature, she picked
him up and placed him under the blanket she wore so that he may be
warmed by her body heat.
As she went about her work, she felt the
snake begin to stir. The woman peeked under the blanket and said to the
snake "be still, we are far from home. Once I'm done, I'll sit you by
the fire and feed you, but for now if you leave, you'll freeze again
very quickly."
The snake looked at her with gratitude and told her thanks, then settled back down.
Shortly there after the woman felt the bite of the snake over her heart.
As the venom choked her she gasped to the rattle snake "Why? Why have you done this?"

The snake fell to the snow and looked up.
"Look bitch, you knew I was a snake when you picked me up."
