In a remote part of Russia lies a small village inhabited by the Nyevoans, humans with leathery wings used mainly for flight.
Kroww Valkov was born into a long line of assassins-for-hire, and as such was raised to become one himself. For many years he was number-one, and was often the one looked to when a mercenary was in need.
One day, however, his intended target was a small child. He obeyed his mission and killed the child, nonetheless right in front of his younger brother, who lived; however, his guilt eventually got the better of him and caused him to leave his village forever and abandon his last name, wishing to leave his past behind and atone for his sins.
