Regarding this so called downfall of HL

Please, before you read on, keep your minds open. I'm not here to insult anyone, I'm just getting out my opinion.

Now, I know you all must of gotten Bryant's PM talking about what happened to us. Frankly, I don't know of these problems, because I don't come on here often. Why? It's not because I RAN away, that's for sure. It's not because I don't give a shit. It's because I HAVE A LIFE outside of the internet and I'm living it. I'm in highschool, pre IB program for Gods sake. I have the best friends I can possibly have in my real life. I love my family and friends, but that doesn't mean I stopped caring about YOU guys! Honestly, you guys were the greatest people I've found online. You know what, I even had a petpage dedicated to all you ex DPers. But things have changed, people have moved on. You aren't forgotten. You know it's gonna happen sometime or later, we can't just be stuck on this website, depend our happiness on our online friends. I'm sorry if this is your only escape. I truly am, and if you think I'm being harsh, hell, maybe I am. Some people just aren't lucky to have good people IRL. This is where HL and our big group of friends come in.
But..but I do have those people. I do want to do something with myself, make something of myself. I'm working on this IB diploma, trying not to give up and be those people that drop out of the program for the basic high school classes. I want to get a high education and a great job for the future. I don't have the time I used to for this anymore. I'm trying to be a better person here. Take care of my own health, care for my family, I could never push them away, though you know a lot of teens are a bit rebellious with their parents.
I still care, and I still try to log on time to time just to say hello, remember the good old times. You can still find me on neopets, I'm still the addict. I've found good people there too, though it's not the group thats as crazy and stupid as how we use to act xD
Though I know some of you guys will disagree, I refuse to become very close to someone I meet online. It's fun to chat and tell you guys things that people IRL may not know, but I'm not the person that will call you on the phone to chat, meet up in real life, whatever. That's just my own thing. You can do what you want, live however you want to live your life. This is how I'm living mine.

I don't think many people on HL were actually here for the 'good times'. Back when no one gave a shit about problems and we all just enjoyed ourselves. The 'good times' started before HL, back on neo, where we'd always be off-topic and flame n00bs. Looking back, I can't see why we wanted to leave in the first place. Remember how much fun we had? Even with all the stupid rules. I'm not saying the 'good times' didn't bleed into HL, but I certainly think they ended before many people were here, like Roy, Rosie, and Danni, to name a few. Back when Tira and Bhavesh were still here (Btw, if anyone knows her neo account, can you PM me? o3o). The 'good times' ended when we all started giving a shit about our opinions and beliefs, which started with a silly argument about Jesus. I'm sure Kiri, Allie, and Vix remember that. So, if we really want the 'good times' back, maybe our best option is to start fresh, on a clean slate.

I have to agree with you, Jessica.
Because I /do/ have a life as well. I barely even went on Neo anymore. There were some problems I needed to work out. =/
Therefore, I wasn't here for any sort of argument and/or falling out of certain members, and the e-mail from Bryant just served to utterly confuse me.
This forum is doing better than some others that I've seen - so, I did not truly see a reason for the e-mail. I'm not trying to sound rude or uncaring, but that's my view. And no one can change that on me - not anymore.
But basically... This site doesn't look like it's dying. To me, it just looks like it's slowed down a tad - not enough to start freaking out about.

I don't know of these past arguments either. Yeah, I know we had some stupid falling outs, but most were healed and things went back to how they were. Whatever happened lately, I'm out of the loop. I know of no such argument with Jesus, beliefs, religion whatever. But maybe those problems didn't start because of opinions, but because of ignorance. I know people are trying to figure out their lives, as lame as that sounds. That's the life of a teen xD You can support your beliefs, but don't push it on anyone, and respect what others think. Just don't be ignorant in what you support, or be ignorant in what others support. Strong opinions can lead to disaster when they clash.

Anyways, my friends and I were discussing earlier in the school about how it feels we changed a lot. From the beginning to 8th grade to now as freshman, we've noticed a sense of maturity, compared to our old friends. And I'll tell you now, it isn't a big group of us. Only 4, but those girls are my frickin closest people I have, more than my relatives. I agree, I think we have matured. Together. Maybe some people haven't and are still stuck in the past. I'm saying this because, maybe...this is what has changed from how we now act online.
